Spring / Summer — 1982

Press Release

Spring and above all summer are an invitation to relax and unwind. But to Gianfranco Ferré, elegance and class know no season and are the basic components of feminine dress. Consequently, utter simplicity, a new vision of construction and a feel for precision detailing underpin the Spring Summer 1982 collection.

To achieve this elegance and class Gianfranco Ferré: blends classic colours with a new verve using blue and white without restraint and adding touches of yellow, red, green – primary colours – with a brilliant effect through the use of different fabrics; cuts the clothes to emphasise the line of the body, creates new dimensional effects with structural interventions on the sleeves or by giving pants a new fullness, lengthens the figure by lowering the waistline, brings back the importance of the neckline with new creative solutions of either total rigidity or casual softness; contrasts different fabrics: taffeta and suede, raw silk and nylon, lamé leather and silk crêpe, organza and cotton piquet without forgetting all-time classics: wool gabardine and ottoman, cotton poplin and linen.

We mentioned elegance and class, let us add glamour: glamour is the “parade effect” behind every proposition in the collection, underlined by certain details and suggested by the accessories, outstanding amongst which are the wide bands of coloured gros grain and the belts with silver plaque.
